Design Competition
The College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) sponsors an annual material handling student design competition for teams of students interested in the analysis and design of material handling systems. Since the first design competition was offered during the 1994-1995 academic year, student design teams have developed material handling system designs for a variety of manufacturing and warehousing operations. Design problems are typically drawn from the case files of designers and manufacturers of material handling equipment and their end users. The 2009-2010 case was developed by Keogh Consulting. See the links below regarding the current design competition and the summaries of the past design competitions.
CICMHE is pleased to welcome the Order Fulfillment Council as a co-sponsor of the 2009-2010 competition. In addition to the existing cash prizes of $1500, $1000, and $500 to the First, Second, and Third place teams, plus $500 for each placing department, the OFC co-sponsorship will enable the top three finishing faculty advisors to attend the 2011 ProMat show in Chicago, IL, March 21-24, 2011.
