Flow dominance measure for facility design and Excel versions of CORELAP and ALDEP
Download the pdf file showing how the flow dominance measure is derived (57 KB)
This Lecture Resource provides the derivation for the flow dominance measure. It was developed by Uday Venkatadri. The flow dominance measure is used by facilities designers to decide whether a given from-to matrix (process to process flow matrix) has a few dominant flows or nearly all equal flows. CORELAP
This Lecture Resource provides an implementation of CORELAP in Microsoft Excel. It has been developed by Ashish Saraswat and Uday Venkatadri. The well known layout design algorithm CORELAP has been around since the 1960s. It was first written in Fortran. Unfortunately, there are very few implementations of CORELAP still available easily over the web. This implementation is very easy to use. Instructions are provided in CORELAP.doc. Please direct any comments or questions to Uday Venkatadri at Uday.Venkatadri@dal.ca.

ALDEP
This Lecture Resource provides an implementation of ALDEP in Microsoft Excel. It has been developed by Ashish Saraswat and Uday Venkatadri. Like its counterpart CORELAP, ALDEP has been around since the 1960s. It was also first written in Fortran. Unfortunately, there are very few implementations of ALDEP still available easily. This implementation is intuitive and very easy to use. Instructions are provided in ALDEP.doc. Please direct any comments or questions to Uday Venkatadri at Uday.Venkatadri@dal.ca.
