R&M’s Spacemaster® SX Electric Wire Rope Hoists and Components in a Magnet Crane Application
The project required a 40 ton capacity double girder top running crane with two (2) 20 ton capacity hoists equipped with magnets for use in a CMAA Class D Service steel plate handling application. This heavy-duty application also called for a high hoisting speed, high trolley travel sped and a high bridge travel speed. The location for this application was under a roof with the sides of the building open exposing the equipment to the elements.

Unique Rail System “Off/On Ramp” Allows Quick Hoist Exchange on Production Line
A computer controlled renovation and refurbishing line with specific time and efficiency goals relies heavily on the proper continuous function of all of its components. To minimize the line’s downtime, engineers developed a unique “off-ramp/on ramp” set up. Features and benefits: Minimal line downtime due to the rapid exchange of hoists. Computer controls and monitors ensuring peak efficiency and same model of hoists allows for an ample in-0hous inventory.

Well Planned Hoist Maintenance Program Reduces Downtime Significantly
“At the heart of the success of the plant is the organized maintenance program”. Very often, usual hoist wear and tear produces ordinary breakdowns that derail a process or plant for more time than is actually necessary. Regular inspection and maintenance can have a dramatic effect on the efficiency of production, safety awareness and overall profitability. Much of the downtime produced by breakdowns and maintenance has been reduced or eliminated by the implementation of a well thought out and organized maintenance program.

R&M’s Stagemaker® Concert Hoist with Raynok Motion Control System
The project required eight (8) electric chain hoists to move video projectors to various preset levels during worship services in a Houston, Texas church. The key requirements for the equipment were – the ability to have pre-programmed cues, the repeat accuracy of the hoist hook positions, the ability to adjust the hook positions if needed during and between cues of the service, and to not hear the hoists while in operation.

University-Industry Partnership Studies Auto Workers Ergonomic Situation
In the automotive industry, a single back injury can add as much as $2,000 to the cost of production of a single vehicle. But until recently, there hasn’t been very much research into the ways that U.S. automakers could reduce stress, fatigue and injury to U.S. auto workers. A university and industry collaboration has developed a think-tank that has begun to research ways to use material handling equipment to reduce these stresses on workers.

Demag’s Electric Chain Hoist For Wind Power Generation Station Maintenance
A company, well known to the wind power industry, who installed over 300 units in Grover, Texas needed a method of lifting heavy tools and spare parts to the nacelle for maintenance and repair of their Wind Generating Turbines. The problem was, they need to lift up to 425 feet. Demag met the challenge and developed a hoist specifically for maintenance of wind power generators.

Heavy Duty Electric Chain Hoist Operates Over Hot Sulfuric Acid
A Pennsylvania metal castings foundry was using an electric hoist over a hot sulfuric acid tank. The harsh environment was too much for the hoist in this application. Daily maintenance and repairs were needed just to keep the hoist operational. A heavy duty electric chain hoist was installed which comes standard with a fan cooled 60 minute duty rated motor and a completely sealed body, and it held up to the rigors of this tough environment.

Demag DR Pro Hoists with Simultaneous and Independent Hoists are the Ideal Solution for Handling Long Materials
Handling of long bulky materials has often been a challenge when the hoists and trolleys do not run at the exact same speeds. Typically when two independent hoists are operated in parallel, the differences in starting and stopping times of the hoists causes the hoist lift or trolley travel to not be synchronized.

|
R&M Electric Wire Rope Hoist in a Special Dual Hoist Application
The project required a 3-ton single girder top running crane with dual 3-ton wire rope hoists that measured and restricted the hoist's combined total capacity to 3-ton. In one application the hoists would be operated independently with a capacity of 3-ton per hoist.
|
|
R&M Electric Wire Rope Hoist in a Special "Dual Capacity" Application
The project required a double girder top running crane with one hoist for use in a special dual capacity application. The runway was designed with a 40-ton zone at one end and a 10-ton zone at the other end. The R&M Hoist Monitor Elite combined with the engineered Restricted Area Protection option allowed the crane to operate as a 40-ton or a 10-ton crane, depending on its position along the runway.

Demag Variable Speed Chain Hoists Provides Fine Positioning
A Demag DCS Electric Chain Hoist was selected for this application due to its step less variable speed lifting capability. The operator can easily control the lifting and lowering speed of the hoist over a wide range from 0.5 - 50 feet per minute or any speed in between for fine positioning of the load.

Windmill Long Lift Chain Hoist
The project required a hoist to lift parts to the Windmill Generator which is located over 328 ft. above the ground. The parts weighing up to 550 lbs. must be lifted to the generator quickly so that maintenance can be performed timely. It is extremely important to keep the energy flowing without interruption. The load hook must also be provided in a way as to not damage the cladding of the tower. To solve the problem, Stahl selected a standard ST10 electric chain hoist mounted to a push trolley with a single fall reeving. Parts are lifted the 328 feet at a speed of 98 fpm reducing the cycle time to about 7 minutes.

Power Station Long Lift Wire Rope Hoist Hoist
A total of 84 catalytic converters are installed on two levels of a power plant. The individual elements of the converters are transported from ground level to a height of 200 ft. or 215 ft. The hoist was used for the initial installation and subsequently for replacing the converters which weigh 5,500 lbs. The narrow installation openings are available for transport of converter cages safely over the various levels of the building. In view of the lateral clearance on the narrow side, the task required a non-rotating true vertical lift. To solve the problem, Stahl selected a standard SH60 wire rope hoist mounted to a motorized trolley.

Demag Electric Chain Hoist increases productivity in a work cell
A Demag Electric Chain Hoist combined with an Enclosed Track Jib Crane provide an excellent material handling solution. Safety and productivity in a Control Panel Manufacturing Work Cell were greatly increased as a result of this installation. The operator uses the hoist to lift and position both the assembly components and completed panels with ease. The creep speed of the two-speed hoist gives the operator positioning control whenever he needs it. Parts that were once lifted by hand are now more safely handled with the hoist and jib. Overloads are prevented by an electronically monitored slip clutch that is standard equipment in the hoist.
