Application: A small fabrication shop cuts and forms sheet metal for radiators, generators, and other electrical applications. The sheet metal handled typically measures 4-5 ft. wide by 8-10 ft. long and can weigh up to 650 lbs.

Solution: Two Free Standing Work Station Bridge Cranes with 1 ton aluminum bridges and chain hoists with vacuum end effectors were installed.

• Forklifts were used, but were bumping into machines and placement was difficult
• Manual lifting using two operators was costly and unsafe due to the heavy, sharp material
• Automation would have reduced injuries but was too expensive for the shop to invest in
