Freestanding Enclosed Track Workstation Crane (x2)

A leading manufacturer of fluid system products needed a way to increase productivity, while making it easier for operators to safely load 40lb. valves into and out of machining centers.

In their existing layout, four machining centers were used for the final manufacturing step in the valve production line.

With no overhead truss system to support the rail, they needed a freestanding system capable of spanning the entire area, while allowing each machining center to have independent control of an overhead solution.

“This solution saved floor space, provided maximum flexibility for each cell, made the operators more productive and allowed them to more safely and ergonomically load and unload the 40lb. valves”

The Solution?
Ingersoll Rand provided a two-crane solution, using a single runway support, 90 feet long, with 30 foot column centers. Each machining center was provided its own bridge and balancer to meet the individual requirements of that particular center.

Using Steel runways and Aluminum bridges, the customer got maximum efficiency, performance and value for a minimum cost.
