- Business: Custom Build RV’s, Trailers, and Luxury Coaches
- Product Type: Rigid Rail Fall Arrest Anchor System
|
Industry:
Custom RVs, trailers, and luxury coaches
Application:
During assembly and maintenance of vehicles, workers climb to the top of the coaches to be sure they are properly sealed, as well as to inspect vents and satellite dishes for damage. The average height of these vehicles is 13 feet.
Solution:
The company has installed 7 total Tether Track Fall Arrest Systems. Two are two-person dual track monorails and the rest are single person monorails.
Problem:
A visit from the company insurance carrier brought to light OSHA safety standards for workers working above 4' heights.
Why Gorbel® Was The Smart Solution:
In researching fall arrest systems, the safety coordinator felt that the rigid system was the way to go because of the lengths of the areas that they needed to cover.
Since installation, all workers are now required to be tied onto the Tether Track Fall Arrest Systems whenever working at any height beyond 4 feet, in keeping with OSHA standards.
Testimonials:
"It seemed to all of us that the rigid system was the way to go," said Smith. "We’ve got one area to cover that is 78 feet long. My fear with the sag and stretch of the wire is that the guy would hit the floor before the system caught him."
