This automotive lighting division is the world's largest provider of automotive light sources - everything from red neon for brake lights to fluorescent auto interiors. They needed to reduce the size of its new stockroom in order to gain more manufacturing space. But the number of items stored in the stockroom would not be reduced - a challenging proposition!

To consolidate their parts storage, it was recommended that the company take full advantage of their facility's ceiling's height. They decided to build a custom mezzanine comprised of modular drawer storage and shelf cabinets.

For cost-efficiency, older cabinets were recycled to create the mezzanine's second level, although the cabinet housings were outfitted with new drawers. Recycling the old cabinets was a tremendous cost and time savings. It was ideal since the storage equipment was still functioning as well as it had 30 years ago.

The new system improves space utilization and organization, as well as streamlining order fulfillment. In fact, the Solution Provider designed the mezzanine to incorporate an adjacent parts counter, allowing employees to place and pick up orders.
