Problem
This public utility department needed to consolidate three warehouses worth of small parts storage into one main warehouse of approximately 41,000 square feet. By losing the other two warehouses, the department would forfeit about 12,000 square feet of storage space. To make matters worse, their central warehouse would also serve as a distribution center for four satellite storerooms.
Objective
The new main warehouse would require an even higher level of efficiency and organization.
Solution
A combination of storage wall systems and stacked cabinets helped to reach their goals. The storage system houses an eclectic array of items related to power delivery: O-rings, nuts, bolts, safety equipment, auto parts for the utility fleet, and utility-pole adapters, to name a few.
Benefits
The Solution Provider was able to provide a system tailor-made to their storage needs - a system that enhanced customer satisfaction, provided for tighter inventory control, eliminated wasted space and improved both safety and aesthetics.
The system had a profound effect on their operation. They have improved organization and aesthetics, protected their inventory, modernized their warehouse, enhanced their retrieval system and increased employee safety.
"In order to maintain productivity and profitability, it was clear that the old storage system would have to be scrapped in favor of a newer, more space-efficient version".
