The Ergonomics Toolbox is a new interactive, multi-media CD-ROM designed to aid companies in assessing task evaluation and equipment recommendations for manual material handling. Produced by the Ergonomics Assist Systems and Equipment (EASE) Council in conjunction with the University of Minnesota-Duluth and Cleveland State University, the program provides users with an overview of the entire ergonomics and manual material handling process. Contents include a section on ergonomics hazards featuring AVI video, descriptions and picture of ergonomic assist equipment, and a task analysis tool with several industry accepted methods of measuring the risk factors in a particular task. The program allows users to input job criteria and then receive material handling parameters based upon that job. These include the proper way of handling products, weight limits, what constitutes a safe load, along with a recommendation on the types of ergonomic assist equipment best suited for the task.
