Tune in to ESPN's new inspirational series RISE UP, on Tuesday, September 27th at 7 pm (EST) for the episode featuring Dorchester Education Complex. Penco is happy to once again participate (as in last year's RISE UP New Orleans) by contributing several products to make over athletic facilities at Roberts Playground and Dorchester Education Complex in Dorchester, MA, near Boston.
As in all RISE UP episodes, manufacturers, contractors and other businesses contributed their resources and talents to upgrade school athletic facilities located in a high crime area. Products provided by Penco were shipped, within one week, from their Lancaster, PA QuickShip™ warehouse. The newly renovated athletic facilities will be utilized by Dorchester Academy and TechBoston, two schools with a combined athletics program.
"We are happy to be participating in another RISE UP event," said Bruce Woodward, President and COO of Penco Products, Inc, "Last year's New Orleans' episode was such an inspiration for all of us at Penco that when the Dorchester project was presented to us, we were immediately on board to help these kids have a safe place to practice and play."
About ESPN RISE UP
ESPN'S RISE UP is an evocative, inspirational one-hour series that takes on the challenge of completely rebuilding one under-privileged high school's athletic facility from the ground up. Each of the four episodes will follow a different school as community members come together to refurbish the one thing that ties an entire town together - the local high school athletic program. RISE UP will spend time with the students and coaches in each community, uncovering the challenges facing high school athletes today, and working with professional athletes, coaches, and trainers to help motivate and inspire them to reach even greater goals. The series kicks off on Tuesday, September 13, and will air on the three consecutive Tuesdays thereafter.
