Wednesday, February 01, 2012
Somerset, NJ (www.BEUMER.com) —BEUMER Corporation, specializing in the design and supply of intralogistics solutions will be discussing application-specific high-speed loop sortation solutions in booth 2315 at MODEX 2012, February 6-9, in Atlanta. The company’s booth also will feature cross-belt and tilt-tray sorters.
BEUMER representatives will conduct 15-minute Sortation Discovery discussions during the show to explore how high-speed unit sortation can help warehousing and distribution professionals in a wide range of industries achieve higher order accuracy, maximum throughput and service levels per square foot and predictable and sustainable automation ROI. Attendees also will learn how BEUMER sortation systems have made a difference for leading e-fulfillment, POS retail replenishment and parcel operations companies by increasing productivity, expanding facilities with minimal down time, and providing comprehensive customer support and a full line of original after-market products. BEUMER representatives will share the experiences of Adidas, Forever 21 and FedEx Smart Post, among others, during the Sortation Discovery conversation.
“We want to empower visitors in our booth to make smart automation technology decisions relating to distribution network strategy, whether they are building a new distribution center or looking for ways to leverage unit sortation technology to optimize productivity and efficiency in an existing facility,” said Tony Barr, chief marketing officer and vice president of corporate development for BEUMER Corporation. “Together with Crisplant, BEUMER provides high-quality, business outcome-oriented solutions that truly make a difference and deliver long-term reliability and success for our customers.”
MODEX visitors who register and complete a BEUMER Sortation Discovery session will be eligible to win an iPad2.
In addition to conducting the Sortation Discovery sessions, BEUMER also will display its cross-belt and tilt tray sorters in the booth.
The BEUMER cross-belt sorter with contactless energy supply and linear induction motor drive is a high-capacity system that sorts a variety of items safely and gently to the right destination, no matter the size, shape or surface characteristics of the product handled. The system has 50 percent fewer components than other systems and reduces maintenance costs by as much as 80 percent. The gaps between pulleys and adjacent belt trays are minimized, reducing the product damage, jams and system down time.
The BEUMER tilt-tray sorter features mechanical tilting elements that enable goods to be softly discharged on either side, in a guided, two-dimensional process. Items glide out of the tray at a much lower speed, compared to other systems. This enables large letters, small packages, parcels and any other sorted items to be transported safely and discharged exactly in the right place.
