(Auburn Hills, MI) Knight Global (www.knight-ind.com), a leading North American-owned ergonomic material handling solutions provider, announces a success story of a new floor mounted heavy duty servo arm that dynamically lifts from 35 lbs. up to 800 lbs.
The customer needed a lift assist system to help them safely move their tire molds and dies in and out of the molding work cells. The lift assist system had to be capable of lifting various size molds and dies that weighed 35lbs to 800lbs: out to a distance of 9ft [2.74m].
Knight Global's solution was to utilize a Floor Mounted Articulating Servo Arm (KSHFA1500) with a new design that would be capable of lifting 800lbs out to a distance of 9 ft [2.74m] and be able to maneuver such large various weights in an X and Z rotational motion without operator strain.
The Floor Mounted Articulating Servo Hoist Arm allowed for the overhead extended reach within the workstation. An overhead rail system was not an option because there was already an existing overhead crane in place. The Knight Servo System was specifically chosen because it eliminates the bouncing effect in the lifting arm that most air systems create while lifting heavy loads.
Knight Global will be displaying Servo Hoist technology at Modex 2012 in Booth #1518.
