ATLANTA – Hyster Company has strengthened the powertrain warranty of its 3,000 to 19,000 lb. lift capacity Fortis® cushion and pneumatic-tired trucks. The warranty now provides coverage for three years or 6,000 hours.
These Fortis trucks also feature a patented-design stability system that is 100 percent maintenance-free. Coupled with quality components and state-of-the-art manufacturing, the Hyster Fortis truck line is a far more productive and cost-efficient solution than a one-size-fits-all approach used by competitors.
An S40FT and S120FT Fortis lift truck will be on display at this week’s MODEX in booth # 2518.
“The revamped Fortis raises the bar when it comes to configuration options and built in components,” said Jonathan Dawley, president of Hyster Distribution. “With the increasing breadth of individualized needs, this truck family showcases Hyster Company’s unparalleled commitment to quality and dependability, as well as a thorough consideration and anticipation of customer needs.”
The powertrain is a vital component of any lift truck, and the durable Fortis powertrain design offers exceptional dependability in the toughest applications. Multiple powertrain configurations are available, and offer improved efficiency while enhancing reliability, and superior serviceability to reduce operating costs.
The patented DuraMatch™ transmission system includes an Auto Deceleration System that extends brake life up to 60 percent by automatically slowing the truck when the accelerator pedal is released. Its controlled power reversal feature virtually eliminates tire spin, thus increasing tire life up to 50 percent. This feature is programmable to match application needs for maximum productivity. The electronically-controlled powershift transmission’s clutch pack is stronger, larger and thicker than standard packs and lasts three times as long. This transmission option’s gears and shafts are up to 15 percent stronger to handle even the most demanding duty cycle. The electronic inching provides superior control by automatically adjusting to compensate for brake wear, which helps to reduce maintenance costs.
With a patented design that is based on more than 80 years of lift truck experience, the Hyster Stability System reduces truck lean in turns and improves lateral stability. Even with a reduced lean, the innovative steer axle mounting design still allows for superior travel over uneven surfaces. The stability system is built into the fundamental design of the truck, not added on, and provides enhanced reliability. The system requires no controllers, sensors, actuators or extra wiring that is present in other complex electronic systems, eliminating costly maintenance and repair.
