Borroughs Corporation announces the acquisition of epi Paramount, museum storage product lines.

KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN. . . Timothy Tyler, President and CEO of Borroughs Corporation, a 70 year old privately held manufacturer of storage and material-handling products, headquartered in Kalamazoo, Michigan, announced today the acquisition of the epi Paramount Museum Storage product lines, previously manufactured by, Edcar Products Inc., of Oceanside, NY. For over 30 years, Paramount products have been quality designed and built, for the storage and preservation of museum collections. The line includes herbarium cabinets, vertebrate cabinets, art racks, film storage, flat drawer cabinets and related products. Borroughs and Paramount will coordinate the transfer of technology and manufacturing, to its 500,000 square foot Kalamazoo facility.

In making the announcement, Mr. Tyler stated that "the acquisition of this product line fits in well with our strategy to grow our core business which is designing, manufacturing and marketing storage systems. It also enhances our existing product offerings of steel storage systems and Aisle-Saver® high-density mobile storage systems, to provide total capability for the important museum market segment. Paramount cabinets are widely used and enjoy an excellent reputation for quality and value. We will also be looking at ways to extend the concepts of the Paramount designs to develop additional related specialty storage products.”

Borroughs has retained Mr. Richard R. Carroll, the former President of Edcar Products, Inc, to manage the sales of these products as its Museum Products Specialist. Mr. Carroll, who has over 20 years of experience with the Paramount products, will report to Mr. Joe Cascio, Borroughs Vice President of Sales. Borroughs will market the museum storage products under the name - epi Paramount Museum Storage Solutions by Borroughs.
