SK Daifuku Shares The Secrets of Lean Warehousing and distribution at NA 2004
Internal Logistics Becomes a Competitive Advantage in Booth #1902
Wednesday, January 21, 2004
SALT LAKE CITY, UT – SK Daifuku Corporation announces that it will exhibit at NA
2004 in Cleveland, Ohio, March 29 – April 1. SK Daifuku’s Booth 1902 will focus on the
benefits of lean warehousing and distribution. Presentations featuring case study
examples will help attendees learn how to achieve these goals in their own operations.
NA 2004, sponsored by the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA), showcases
the latest solutions for productivity enhancement in manufacturing, warehousing and
distribution operations. Echoing that theme, SK Daifuku will demonstrate how to
increase productivity by planning and implementing lean warehousing and distribution
processes.
“The SK Daifuku exhibit will be staffed by process experts who can help illustrate the key
principles behind the lean concept,” says John King, vice president of sales and
marketing. “We will also be able to show attendees a proven method for analyzing their
current processes and preparing a roadmap for achieving a more cost-effective
operation.”
“At the heart of the lean factory or warehouse is a Pull Engine that reduces costs,
increases productivity and quality, and puts the emphasis squarely on customer
satisfaction,” King says. “Many companies are committed to implementing a lean
operation, but they don’t always know how to design processes that can meet that
challenge. SK Daifuku, with more than 60 years of experience and a global client base,
can offer the breadth and depth of solutions that will fit the particular requirements of any
application.”
As part of the NA 2004 educational program, SK Daifuku will also present a seminar
entitled “Lean Warehousing and Distribution – A Formidable Competitive Weapon.” Led
by Steve Parsley, a recognized industry expert and dynamic speaker, the seminar will be
offered on Wednesday, March 31, 2004. In this powerful seminar, attendees will learn
how to take advantage of the lean concept through a series of real-life case studies that
will showcase the key components of the lean operation.
