Blue Giant Celebrates 45th Anniversary

Brampton, ON – Blue Giant Equipment Corporation is celebrating 45 years in
the loading dock and material-handling equipment business. From its start building
mechanical dock levelers in Ontario, Canada, Blue Giant has expanded rapidly to
become a leader in loading dock solutions with worldwide facilities and distribution.

“Blue Giant has always been aggressive in expanding our product offerings and
distribution,” reports Steve Greco, Director of International Sales and Marketing. “Today
we’re investing heavily in research and development to introduce new technologies that
will ensure our continuing global leadership in the loading dock market.”

Significant milestones include:

• 2008 – Blue Giant celebrates 45 years of manufacturing loading dock equipment.
• 2007 – Blue Giant awarded three major projects in Dubai totaling more than 250
dock systems.
• 2005 – Blue Giant expands service fleet, becoming the largest OEM service company of dock products in Canada.
• 2003 – Blue Giant acquires the Rol-Lift brand of dock products and expands distribution in North America.
• 2002 – 250,000th dock leveler product is manufactured worldwide.
• 2001 – Blue Giant launches the XDS Extra Dock Safety series to market, the only three-in-one offering that protects the dock and the door from the dangers of the drop zone.
• 1998 – Blue Giant formalizes licensee partnership manufacturing dock equipment in Mexico. In 2004, relationship expands into Latin America.
• 1997 – Blue Giant begins manufacturing OEM lift trucks for Clark Materials Handling.
• 1994 – Blue Giant awarded one of the largest single order contracts for 309 mechanical
dock levelers for the Singapore Port Authority.
• 1991 – Blue Giant formalizes licensee partnership manufacturing dock equipment in Southeast Asia. Market distribution expansion includes India and China.
• 1985 – Blue Giant introduces one of  the first non-impact ICC-bar vehicle restraints to North American market.
• 1984 – Blue Giant expands their existing manufacturing operation in Brampton, Ontario from 35,000 to 100,000 sq. ft.
• 1978 – Blue Giant expands manufacturing and distribution with a 120,000 sq. ft. operation in Alabama.
• 1973 – Blue Giant introduces dock lifts and scissor tables to an already expanding product offering.
• 1972 – Blue Giant formalizes licensee partnership manufacturing dock equipment in Australia. Blue Giant dominates the market for more than 20 years.
• 1963 – Blue Giant was founded specializing in the manufacturing of dock levelers and hand pallet trucks.
