Economical and High Performance Wheel Series Now Shipping

Jonesboro, Arkansas – Colson Caster Corporation, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of standard and custom application caster and wheel products has announced another addition to its low-cost line of wheels for mass distribution. The Trans-forma™ HD series is a heavy-duty, and cost-effective solution with both hard and soft tread advantages.

“This new Trans-forma HD series combines the durability of hard tread wheels with features of softer tread products which allow the wheel to both resist and cushion impacts and also glide quietly while protecting surfaces,” said Charles Harris, engineering manager at Colson. “This new wheel is another innovation based upon interviews and input from our customer base.”

On both series of Trans-forma wheel products, the tread material is chemically bonded to an ultra-tough, waffle design polyolefin wheel core for the hardiest, non-marking ride. And, like the original Trans-forma wheel, the new HD model also is constructed with a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) tread, but with a much harder durometer. The TPE material resists water damage associated with hydrolysis from wet and punishing applications. In addition, the construction and content of the wheel material has been tested in Colson’s lab to ensure resistance to flat spotting under heavy loads over long periods of time. Completely manufactured in the U.S., the HD wheel series is the perfect choice when needs call for quiet, durability and high capacity.

The new Trans-forma HD wheel is available now in 4”, 5” and 6” diameters, each with a 2” tread width. The HD models have capacity ratings from 600 to 900 pounds, depending upon the wheel diameter, and offer a full range of bearing options.
