The required height adjustment of the elevating dock lift, to travel the difference in the floor height of the facility to the truck bed height, is made by simple push button control. The elevating lift deck can be positioned and stopped at any point of its typical 59 inches of travel. The deck of the elevating dock lift always remains flat which permits easier movement of the loading / unloading pallet jack or cart into and out of the truck. Dock levelers, dock plates and ramps all create an angled deck that the loading / unloading pallet jack or cart must be manually pushed up. In many instances the forces required to push pallet jack or cart over the angled deck can be very substantive and creates health and safety concerns for the dock attendant as well as potential damage to pallet jacks, carts and product. If a fork lift truck is being utilized, use over severely angled dock levelers, deck plates can create a safety hazard and damage or wear out the fork lift truck prematurely.
