BUSHMAN AVONTEC MAKES AGGRESSIVE MOVES IN SLIT COIL PACKAGING MARKET

Butler, WI--Bushman AvonTec, manufacturer and single source supplier of custom material handling equipment, has made personnel changes and improved operational efficiencies to take advantage of expected sales growth in its Slit Coil Packaging business.

As an established North American leader in coil packaging equipment, Bushman AvonTec has reassigned personnel responsibilities in its Canadian office and designated Trevor Phillips as the senior product manager for the line. Phillips is responsible for sales, technical design and integration of packaging systems. Supporting Phillips will be a team led by Ken Lewis, Chief Engineer. Tom Mulhern will manage the inside functions including scheduling and order fulfillment.

The new team in charge will be armed with freshly designed marketing materials, including product sales literature presenting the wide range of coil packaging equipment that the company has developed during its long history in the industry. The literature features packaging hardware, including conveyors, banding equipment and positioning equipment, and integration control systems that focus on all aspects of the packaging process.

Bushman AvonTec is also relocating the line’s manufacturing from Waterdown, Ontario to a new facility in Hamilton, Ontario. More than a move, this expansion will provide space and equipment for increased efficiency in production and more thorough pre-shipment assembly and testing.

Bushman AvonTec is currently installing the latest improved version of its automated “Spacer Placer” in northern Ohio. A proprietary design, this equipment automatically places dunnage between slit coils during the banding process. This advancement illustrates Bushman AvonTec’s continuing R & D effort to improve and refine the coil packaging process and solidifies its leadership position in custom-engineered material handling solutions.
