Swisslog is Awarded Two Orders for New Distribution Centers

Monday, December 14, 2009

Swisslog has recently been awarded orders for new distribution facilities by NorgesGruppen ASA, Norway’s largest grocery retailer, and TINE BA, the largest producer and distributor of dairy products also in Norway. The combined value of these orders is approximately $50 million.

The NorgesGruppen facility will feature a 100’ high warehouse with Swisslog’s Vectura Stacker Cranes, ProMove conveyors and AutomationManager™ software.

At TINE, the project will provide two high bay warehouses along with an Order Release Module subsystem for automated dispensing of “blue trays”, a monorail system, and special pallets to handle roller containers. In addition, Swisslog will also implement its own WarehouseManager™ software product.

“These two orders further strengthen our position as a leading global supplier of distribution solutions to the food, beverage and retail industries,” says Markus Schmidt, Head of Swisslog’s Warehouse and Distribution Solutions business in North America.
