BEUMER Corporation to Exhibit Sortation and Distribution Technology at 2010 NA Show
Wednesday, April 21, 2010
Cleveland, OH (www.BEUMER-nowterm.com) – BEUMER Corporation, specializing in the design and supply of material handling and sortation systems, will be exhibiting models of BEUMER automated sortation technology at the 2010 NA Show in Cleveland, OH, April 26-29.
Located in booth 1223, BEUMER will showcase its belt and tilt tray sorters specifically for warehouse and distribution centers. Visitors to the booth can also learn about the company’s high-capacity palletizing and stretch film packaging equipment.
In addition, BEUMER will demonstrate its Total Value of Ownership (TVO) concept, which goes beyond a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach to include criteria such as productivity, throughput, flexibility, accuracy, and service levels for a more accurate method of calculating return on investment (ROI).
BEUMER products include:
Cross-Belt Tray Sorter
The Cross-Belt Tray Sorter uses a cross-belt sequence of moving conveyor belts that convey at an angle of 90° to the direction of travel of the sorter. The corresponding belt tray conveyor is activated and the transported item is fed on the belt tray according to the sorter speed and angle of induction. The reverse process takes place during the discharge process.
The BEUMER Cross-Belt Tray Sorter uses 50 percent fewer components while minimizing tray pitch to achieve the highest sorting capacities in a small footprint. Each belt tray is driven by a maintenance-free DC motor. Energy for the belt trays is provided by a contactless system. In addition, a contactless linear drive helps reduce maintenance requirements for the entire sorter.
Tilt Tray Sorter
The patented 3D Tilt Tray Sorter® with linear motor drive is a high-capacity sorter for a large variety of materials including small parcels, packages, fragile and sensitive products, as well as heavy freight goods, boxes and baggage. The gentle product handling and the directed lateral discharge path enable an economic, space-saving design.
2D E Tray Sorter
Used primarily for baggage and parcel sorting, the patented BEUMER 2D E Tray Sorter with a contactless energy supply is a modular sorter system with motor-driven tilt elements for two-dimensional and controlled discharge of the sorter goods to both sides of the sorter. The tilting motion of the tray is independent of the sorter speed, allowing for higher sorter speeds.
A patented contactless inductive system provides energy for the tilt elements. Control for the discharge of products, the set up of trays as well as the status request of the tilt elements, etc., is made by a contactless infrared data transmission system. Each tilt element is equipped with a motor control unit with infrared transmitter and receiver unit and a power pick-up. Therefore, each tilt element is autonomous and can be activated individually.
