Penco Products announces that they have won a multi-million dollar contract for its Clipper brand of high-rise shelving while exhibiting at the 2010 North American Material Handling & Logistics Show (NA 2010).
"This is a major contract for Penco in a year that has seen demand for high-rise multi-level shelving systems bounce back," states Gregory P. Grogan, President and COO of Penco Products. "This also demonstrates the confidence customers have in Penco to supply large storage solutions."
Clipper® is Penco's most popular line of shelving, using heavy duty posts and shelves joined together using Penco's unique compression clip. The Clipper Hi-Performance® shelves maximize the system's load handling capacity through a design which shapes the front and rear flanges into rigid box beams, thus yielding a high strength-to-weight ratio.
"This most recent project has to be produced - and shipped - in early May, which is where we really shine," adds Grogan. "We constantly focus on refining our processes and optimizing efficiencies in our two plants, which enables us to be one of the few shelving manufacturers that can reliably deliver on projects of this size and magnitude."
This multi-million dollar order comes on the heels of Penco's largest single shelving order in November of 2009, fueling optimism that the material handling industry may be coming back.
During NA 2010, in Cleveland, Penco displayed its largest exhibit ever at this bi-annual event. Their 900 square foot booth featured a 2 level high-rise shelving installation utilizing both Clipper and Erectomatic components.
Penco Products is a member of the IMC Metal Fabrication Group based in Skippack, Pennsylvania and includes, Schmidt Structural Products and All Star Bleachers. The Group's manufacturing plants include 475,000 square feet in Hamilton, NC, 375,000 square feet in Salt Lake City, UT, 50,000 square feet in Lakeland, FL and 50,000 square feet in Birmingham, England.
