For many years within the Material Handling Industry, when you needed a wheel for a smooth ride a pneumatic wheel was chosen. Now there is an alternative wheel available.
E. R. Wagner Casters & Wheels now has 6”, 8”, and 10” Foam Filled wheels. The main advantage of a pneumatic wheel is that it cushions the load during transportation, but the biggest drawback is that it loses air. Foam filled wheels have polyurethane foam in place of the air tube so that it won’t go flat and has the same characteristics, load rating and appearance of the pneumatic wheel. The 6” wheel is mounted to a caster with a choice of two mounting plates. The first plate has a hole spacing of 13/4” x 27/8” slotted to 3”. The second plate has a hole spacing of 25/8” x 35/8” slotted to 3” x 3”. The 8” and 10” wheels can be mounted to casters with a hole spacing of 25/8” x 35/8” slotted to 3” x 3”.
