(Carrollton, TX) – Kelley® announces the launch of their new High Volume Low Speed (HVLS) Fan series, designed to provide facilities with an energy-efficient and cost-effective cooling and heating solution. Created using complex aerodynamic principles, the fans use the laws of physics to move a large column of air slowly, creating a horizontal floor jet that consistently circulates air in large spaces.
The gentle breeze created by the HVLS fans breaks the moisture-saturated boundary layer on the skin, providing an 8-10 degree cooling sensation. This allows facilities to raise thermostats in the summer months without sacrificing worker comfort, saving money on their air conditioning bills. In the winter, fans can be run in reverse to circulate the hot air trapped at ceiling level (known as “destratification”). Heating and HVAC systems need to be run less often, providing a facility with year-round energy savings. Kelley’s HVLS fans can also contribute to LEED® Certification credits and include patented components designed to maximize the fan’s effectiveness.
The slow movement of the fans does not disturb workers or kick up dust and debris, and effectively circulates the air to increase air quality and worker productivity. Kelley’s HVLS fans also assist in exhausting air and preventing moisture buildup in extreme or humid environments. The Fusion™ series fan comes in a variety of sizes and motor horsepower for various applications, and the Fusion™-PV is a 100% solar model for sustainability and additional energy efficiency. The Orbit™ series fan provides the benefits of HVLS fans in spaces where ceiling height or other obstructions may be an issue.
