(July 30, 2007-Charlotte, NC) Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) announced today that Andrew Winston, co-author of Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage will be the Keynote speaker at NA 2008.

Climate change, rising energy costs, an increasingly stringent regulatory environment and added stakeholder pressures are driving the material handling & logistics industry to step up their thinking about the greening of the supply chain. The NA 2008 Keynote entitled Green to Gold: How Smart Companies Use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build High Performance Supply Chains will provide a compelling blueprint for how forward thinking companies can address critical environmental issues, from climate change to energy to water, and improve their supply chain performance, gain competitive advantage, and increase profits.

Winston will lay out the forces coming to bear, called the Green Wave, including the pressures for greener supply chains driven by large companies in all industries, but particularly Wal-Mart. Attendees will come away with strategies that utilize environmental thinking to create high performance supply chains, drive new revenues, enhance brand value, cut costs, and reduce risk.
