With the highest attendance ever for the Classroom Day with a count of 109, students and faculty from local and regional schools and universities such as University at Buffalo, Michigan St. School of Packaging, University at Toledo, Virginia Tech, University at Louisville, Youngstown St., Penn St. University at Akron, Ohio University Cleveland St. and Ferris St., had the opportunity to learn about manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, logistics and IT solutions for the supply chain.

The primary objective of the Classroom Day is to increase the recognition and appreciation of the material handling and logistics industry among the students and professors. The day began with an overview of the industry, the educational activities of MHIA, the newly launched student resume bank known as Gateway at www.mheda.org, and the NA 2008 show. Following this presentation, students were provided with a variety of industry and show information, including a list of ten (10) selected exhibitors representing a well-rounded view of the material handling & logistics industry. These exhibitors provided information to academic visitors regarding their company's role in the material handling industry and in the context of supply chain solutions.
