Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) will be exhibiting in the upcoming Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Applied Ergonomic Conference 2009 (AEC) from March 23-26 in Reno Nevada.
In addition to the exhibit, The Ergonomic Assist Systems and Equipment (EASE) Industry Group of MHIA has been asked to present two educational sessions at AEC 2009:
- LEAN, ERGONOMICS and MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING
- PRODUCTIVITY GAINS: INTEGRATING ERGONOMICS and LEAN

The EASE Council is an Industry Group of MHIA that promotes the benefits of ergonomic assist systems and equipment in the workplace. EASE also promotes the general safety and health aspects of work environments for people with or in the vicinity of mechanical equipment. The Council disseminates and maintains guidelines and standards, case studies and technical papers. EASE Council member companies are concerned, conscientious manufacturers of ergonomic systems and equipment.
MHIA is an international trade association that has represented this industry since 1945. MHIA members include material handling equipment and systems manufacturers, integrators, consultants, publishers, and third party logistics providers. Member companies come from all areas of material handling and various parts of the world, making MHIA a strong national and international representative for the material handling industry. Much of the work of the industry is done within its product-specific sections, councils and affiliates. The association also sponsors trade events, such as ProMat and NA 2010 to showcase the products and services of its member companies and to educate industry professionals on the productivity solutions provided through material handling and logistics.
