Friday, March 13, 2009

The Overhead Alliance of Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) announces the availability of a 24-page brochure Safety and Productivity are on the Rise that details the benefits of choosing overhead lifting solutions when considering equipment and systems for moving products throughout facilities.

The brochure provides a sketch of the typical components of an overhead lifting system including overhead cranes, monorails, and hoists. It also concentrates on the benefits of overhead lifting solutions including safety, efficiency, productivity and sustainability including:

• Reduced product damage
• Improved workflow
• Fewer lifting accidents
• Improved workplace health and safety
• Lower costs
• Reduced facility footprint through recyclable equipment and minimized land consumption.

Three MHIA Industry Groups—The Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA), Hoist Manufacturers Institute (HMI) and Monorail Manufacturers Association (MMA)—formed the Overhead Alliance in 2008 to promote the crane, hoist and monorail industries as alternative lifting and moving solutions that can reduce accidents, improve workplace health and safety, reduce product damage, improve workflow, lower costs and reduce environmental impact.
