Safety Label Brochure for Dock Levelers Now Available From Loading Dock Equipment Manufacturers Industry Group

The Loading Dock Equipment Manufacturers (LODEM) Industry Group of Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) announces the publication of The Safety Label Brochure for Dock Levelers. This brochure provides voluntary guidelines for the selection and application of safety labels for use on loading dock levelers. These guidelines can be incorporated into a comprehensive safety program in which dock levelers are periodically inspected and safety labels reviewed to ensure their integrity and to maximize their effectiveness in avoiding accidents.

"Safety is a prime consideration in the design, manufacture, installation, use and maintenance of loading dock levelers," according to Allan Howie, Managing Executive of LODEM. "To this goal of safe operation of levelers, safety labels can increase operator and maintenance personnel awareness of the hazards that may be involved in operating these devices."

The Safety Label Brochure for Dock Levelers is available as a free download on MHIA.org.
