Two ANSI Monorail Standards Available For Download at MHIA.org

The Monorail Manufacturers Association, Inc. (MMA) announces the availability of two American National Standard Institute (ANSI Standards). The two standards, MH27.1 - 2009--Specifications for Patented Track Underhung Cranes and Monorail Systems and MH27.2 - 2009--Specifications for Enclosed Track Underhung Cranes and Monorail Systems are reaffirmations of the respective 2003 versions.

MH27.1 - 2009--Specifications for Patented Track Underhung Cranes and Monorail Systems
This publication assists manufacturers and users of underhung cranes and monorail systems. The standard Includes discussion of curves, switches, transfer devices, trolleys, lift and drop sections and associated equipment.

MH27.2 - 2009--Specifications for Enclosed Track Underhung Cranes and Monorail Systems
This standard was developed to improve uniformity of underhung crane and monorail performance and enhanced public safety. It represents suggested design practices and performance testing criteria for crane and monorail equipment. It was developed with the sole intent of offering information to parties engaged in the manufacture, marketing, purchase, or use of crane and monorail equipment.

Both standards are now available from Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) at no cost at the MHIA Bookstore.

The Monorail Manufacturers Association, Inc. (MMA) is an independent incorporated trade association affiliated with the Material Handling Industry. MMA Members produce the preponderance of patented and enclosed track underhung cranes and monorail systems.

MHIA is an international trade association that has represented the material handling & logistics industry since 1945. MHIA members include material handling and logistics equipment and systems manufacturers, integrators, consultants, publishers, and third party logistics providers. Member companies come from all areas of material handling and various parts of the world, making MHIA a strong national and international representative for the material handling industry.
