Lifting products in a manufacturing and distribution environment is not as simple as pick and place. Loads constantly change. Overhead Lifting Solutions can be customized to individual applications providing the best and most cost effective lifting solution. Overhead crane systems and monorails are often customized for various facilities.
In addition, many of today’s crane and hoist manufacturers can provide an assortment of below the hook attachments and end effectors for customized product handling. These attachments include items such as vacuum lifters, magnets and specialized tooling.

Educational Seminar at NA 2010
The Overhead Alliance will host an educational seminar at NA 2010, "Methods to Increase Efficiency, Productivity and Safety: The Answer Could Be Over Your Head!" This seminar will demonstrate how overhead lifting can improve efficiency, productivity and safety as well as reduce environmental impact. You’ll see how organizations using overhead lifting benefit from less product damage, better workflow and lower costs.
Three Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) Industry Groups—The Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA), Hoist Manufacturers Institute (HMI) and Monorail Manufacturers Association (MMA)—formed the Overhead Alliance to promote the crane, hoist and monorail industries as alternative lifting and moving solutions that can reduce accidents, improve workplace health and safety, reduce product damage, improve workflow, lower costs and reduce environmental impact.
CMAA, HMI and MMA are affiliated trade associations of Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA). MHIA is an international trade association that has represented the material handling & logistics industry since 1945. MHIA members include material handling and logistics equipment and systems manufacturers, integrators, consultants, publishers, and third party logistics providers. Member companies come from all areas of material handling and various parts of the world, making MHIA a strong national and international representative for the material handling and logistics industry. Much of the work of the industry is done within its product-specific Industry Groups.
