8:15 - 8:30 Welcome and Overview - David Drickhamer, Material Handling Management Magazine

8:30 - 9:30 Opening Keynote - John Hill, ESYNC

This presentation will characterize typical systems components and discuss industry trends.

9:30 - 10:00 BREAK... and tour of the tabletop displays:

Members of the Supply Chain Execution Systems & Technologies Group (SCE Group), a product section of the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) trade association will be at tabletop displays showing WMS, TMS, LMS, and other SCE software and order fulfillment hardware solutions. This is your chance to talk with the experts about your needs.

10:00 - 10:30 Case Histories and Breakout Sessions (attend one of two sessions)

1A - Order Fulfillment Solutions: Finding the Right Configuration for Each Application, sponsored by Siemens. Your order fulfillment system is vital to the success of your operation. Many variables need consideration: growing number of SKUs, system capacity, slow moving items, fast moving items, order frequency, velocity, and accuracy, etc. This presentation will discuss the various order fulfillment configurations and options available along with case studies that reveal the business benefits realized when the most appropriate order fulfillment solution is implemented.

1B - Extending Supply Chain Collaboration through Consignment and VMI sponsored by Provia. Consignment inventory is great when your suppliers provide it, but awful when your customers ask you to do it. It can be difficult to embrace and manage the "Dell" model where inventory isn't owned until consumed. Traditional warehouse processes are designed to manage inventory by SKU without considering who owns it. Rather than using a Logistics Service Provider (LSP) as the bridge between the supplier and the customer, what about the company who wants to manage their own consignment inventory process? What opportunities and challenges need to be considered?

10:40 - 11:10 Case Histories and Breakout Sessions (attend one of two sessions)

2A - Distribution Solutions - Driving Greater Efficiency Through Logistics Optimization, sponsored by RedPrairie. Supply Chain Execution systems have already taken inventory management to near 100% accuracy for order fulfillment. New logistics optimization capabilities can drive greater efficiency and cost savings by aligning process and information flow. This session will discuses how optimization technology can be used to streamline logistics operations to maximize the productivity of your supply chain.

2B - Order Picking 750 Lines per Hour per Operator!, sponsored by Remstar. There are simple and easy to implement strategies which allow facilities to increase picking efficiencies up to 750 lines per hour/per operator! By focusing on basics such as material flow, pre-positioning, workstation configuration, floor space utilization, basic automation and software implementation, organizations are meeting their picking requirements. Theory and real world examples of how to implement these basics in your facility will be discussed.

11:20 - 11:50 Case Histories and Breakout Sessions (attend one of two sessions)

3A - Integrating RFID into Existing Warehousing Operations, sponsored by Foxfire Technologies. Most warehousing operations use the "slap-and-ship" method to comply with mandates of the big retailers. This presentation describes the opportunities and obstacles to using RFID technology in warehousing and other upstream parts of the supply chain. Specific recommendations for the integration of RFID into existing Warehouse Management Systems are provided.

3B - Green Mountain Coffee Grows Fast with Order Fulfillment Capacity Solutions, sponsored by Diamond Phoenix. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters began in 1981 as a small café and now has an extensive wholesale operation as well as direct mail and an e-commerce website. Boasting a 90,000 square foot state-of-the-art roasting and distribution facility, they sold over twelve million pounds of coffee last year. How does Green Mountain plan to grow to a forecasted 50 million pounds over the next 5 years? This session will examine the supply chain and Greenfield distribution solution in terms of timeline, process, scope of supply, and culture of partnership.

11:50 - 12:15 BREAK…and opportunity to visit tabletop areas:

Another chance to visit tabletop demonstrations to share your logistics issues with the SCE Group members. They are there to offer advice, and help you with your Logistics problems.

12:15 - 1:30 Working Luncheon Panel - moderated by David Drickhamer, Material Handling Management Magazine

Bring your questions, ask, and listen as the panel discusses the state of the art, the state of the practice and the trends in the industry that affect your company, your suppliers and your customers.

1:30 - 2:00 Optional Time with Seminar Sponsors

This is your last opportunity to see the tabletop areas and present your questions to the experts concerning supply chain execution and order fulfillment solutions.
