The Opportunity
The development of a new high speed rail line required precise lifting and positioning of sections during the laying of the track bed for the high speed train. Due to the exposure to the potential wide temperature ranges, humidity levels, and precipitation amounts, the units selected must be reliable in these environmental conditions. Since the units are often located in remote part of the country, the chain hoists must require minimum amounts of maintenance.

The Solution
Demag supplied simultaneously controlled (4) DC-Com chain hoists for the precise lifting and positioning of the sections of the train track bed. Standard two speed lifting/lowering speeds allowed the sections to be eased into exact position every time. The DC-Com chain hoist is prepared for outdoor duty as standard so it can handle the extreme conditions required for this application. The Demag chain hoists also offer a very sturdy design with little required maintenance giving the customer a product that could be counted on day after day.
